If you saw the photos last week, the transformation of Drew Carey from fat to thin is remarkable. In Drew’s case, he lost 80 pounds – and 80 pounds makes a big difference in how he looks. Here are before and after shots:
“No carbs,” Carey says. “I have cheated a couple times, but basically no carbs, not even a cracker. No bread at all. No pizza, nothing. No corn, no beans, no starches of any kind. Egg whites in the morning or like, Greek yogurt, cut some fruit.”
He snacks on fruit, and for dinner he’ll have grilled chicken and steamed vegetables and water. “I don’t drink anything but water,” he says. “No coffee, no tea, no soda.”
With the exception of the fruit, this sounds very much like the Dukan diet. He also used exercise – 45 minutes a day.
It took about 7 months to lose 80 pounds, as he started in January – an extremely disciplined rate of weight loss. Waist size went from 44 to 34.
Why did he chose to lose? According to the article he had Type-2 diabetes and “It sucks being fat.” Now he is Diabetes-free.
